Monopoli the town of 100 districts

The beautiful Monopoli is reflected in the Adriatic Sea, announced by the profile of the castle and the ancient walls. Known for its 99 districts of towns that extend over a flat territory, embraced at a glance by the beautiful viewpoint of Loggia del Pilato, a natural terrace from which you can see a landscape characterized by fortified farms, churches, rock settlements and villas. Symbol of the city is the monumental Castle of Charles V, which hosts exhibitions, conferences, now home to the Municipal Archaeological Museum.

The fortified farms, well preserved or carefully restored, are located in the heart of the marina, in the low hills and in the flat hinterland. Monopoli is also a fishing village, a town founded on the sea and the sea, characterized by a coast of 15 km of low and indented coast, with numerous coves and long sandy beaches. Among the celebrations are Saints Cosmas and Damian, and the re-enactment of the landing of the raft with the icon of Our Lady of the Madia.
